Well the 13 hour flight was awsome and so was the airplane food... pause... NOT! I've almost had my fill of traveling, which never happens for me. Must be the jet lag talking. Either way, my stay in the Philippines was the best one yet. After the last blog, I made the decision to turn off my computer for the rest of the trip. There was so much to do and less than a week left. The Ring of Fire turned out to be a great sucess. Team Shamrock and Barnett both won all of their fights (5 each) and turned out Tanya on Ken Shamrock's team won for fight of the night. You rock girl! Heath's good friend Mike Whitehead also won which was great for us to see. Mike is the one in the photo with Ken's back to the camera. Sitting ring side was pretty intense, but I loved every second of it. This was my 2nd MMA fight I had been to and I think I'm finally ready to watch Heath's next UFC fight. As long as I have a couple Valiums first! Watching these guys go at it is a lot for a little girl from Texas to watch. Especially when the fighter's nose gets broken. But about 15 minutes into the fight I really started to enjoy all of it. Sitting with the wives and hearing them yell, "Finish him!" was just about the coolest thing I heard all night. That and a comment from Bill telling us there would be no strippers at the after party; Only to walk into a strip club with 20 Filipino girls there to greet us. LOL. Oh and one more quote from Mike.
The after party was actually a lot of fun especially with the on going joke of the night that there would be no strippers at the party. Everytime we saw Bill walk by one of the wives would chime, " Hey Bill, great party, but it needs some strippers." This was the first time Heath and I have been to a strip club together, if you can believe it. Now that I've done this, I know I'll have no problem going to the Rhino from now on. Everyone had a great time... some more than others. :)
But the best part of the night, which I will always remember was the cab ride home. Heath, Mike and I all decided it was time to leave so we stepped out of the smokey club into the rain and jumpped into the first cab available. The cab driver spoke only a little bit of english and looked quite shocked to see two big fighters get into his car. Mike rode shotgun and quickly noticed that the car didn't have any lights. " Hey man, you realize your lights aren't on? Oh wait the gas light is on and he's on E!" We all laughed, even the cabbie. For those of you that don't know, the drivers in Manila are crazy, there is no such thing as lanes and for the most part they signal by honking their horn. But you never see any accidents, so their system is working, I guess. The cab driver was pretty good aside from the speeding and cutting off a row of people stopped at the red light- as per Mike's orders. He even started honking for the driver, about every minute or so. We couldn't stop laughing. Even when we came 2 inches from ramming into a bus that was merging. Quote of the night after our near death experience-
Mike: Hey I think I just pooped myself back there. You know what 'pooped myself' means?
Alright time to force myself to sleep. I'll be posting about the rest of our trip soon.

Having the best time in Manila!
We are one day away from the fight and things are b-u-s-y. I'm lucky to get some free time while Heath is running around doing interviews from tv show to radio and back to more tv shows. While I'm waiting in the room for an inhouse massage, I decided this is the only time, untill after the fight, that I'll get a chance to blog.
So far we have explored all around Manila, but have yet to travel to the beaches. Hopefully after Sunday we can make a quick trip, as long as another coup attempt doesn't happen. Two days before we arrived in Manila, the former Vice President, Government officials and other rogue military officers drove an amored personnel carrier right through the front on the Peninsula Hotel. That would be like Al Gore and a bunch of Democrats storming a 5 star hotel in the middle of D.C. and demand that President Bush resign. Which in my eyes, would be really "effen" cool. Sadly I won't be visiting the Peninsula for their famous Halo Halo like I did on my last trip to Manila. Halo Halo is a Filipino dessert with different types of ice cream, coconut, toasted rice and other yummy goodies. You have to try it if you ever visit the Philippines.
Out of all the places in the world I have visited, the people here are the nicest and most polite. Everyone speaks Engligh (some better than the Americans back home) and Tagalog. Most Filipinos don't see caucasians very often, so... Heath and I have been getting A LOT of attention. Think of two Texans, one blonde and the other 6'4, walking down the street. It's quite a funny sight. Now think of 20 fighters and a hord of other white people all in one hotel... looks like we are staging our own coup attempt. Just kidding. Well that's all I have time to write for now. Maybe I can sneek some time in after dinner tonight. ;)

Mabuhay!
Hey everyone! Yes I'm still alive... and busy as usual. I didn't even have time to blog about the coolest trip to Vancouver, ever. I'll be posting a blog all about that trip in the next few days.
This past week I've been in the Philippines and can't even describe how much fun it's been. This is my third time to Manila and hands down, it is the best time I've had here. Instead of traveling for poker tournaments or modeling jobs, I'm on Vacation!!! Woo hoo. I'm traveling with my boyfriend
Heath Herring, who isn't on vacation. Among being a UFC fighter, he is the spokesman for a new team fight organization. This coming sunday, Ring of Fire, the biggest event since the infamous "Thrilla in Manilla" ( Ali vs. Frazier) will be held at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. The same place where Muhammed Ali fought back in 1975. There is so much to talk about and not a lot of time to spend writing a blog. So... please bear with me for the next few days and I'll make sure to post all about this amazing time here in the Philippines. As for now, it's time for dinner, and we can't be late. :)

Getting ready for Vancouver...
Things have been pretty busy these past few weeks. Although keeping up with everything is not an easy task... I always like to say, "Busy is good." In less than a week I'll be leaving for Vancouver, British Columbia. The River Rock Casino Resort will be hosting the British Columbia Poker Championships (BCPCs) next week. I can't even explain how excited I am! Vancouver is one of my facorite places in the world as well as staying at the River Rock. Get ready for some updates and lots of good news!!!!!

The US Poker Bowl
This past week I was at the Palms Casino for the taping of the US Poker Bowl. Instead of playing poker I was doing my "new role" as a tv host. This poker tournament was a little different than usual... 25 teams competed for 1 million dollars. ( Steve Dannenman's team Cincinati won the tournament.) As this is a new concept, many players have their own opinions on team poker and not all of them are good. But who knows? In this day in age, change is always good.
Speaking of change... i chopped my hair! Well not really chopped, but I cut it a little past my shoulders. I got the hair cut right before the poker bowl started. Just wanted to change things up a bit. Alas don't worry my hair grows fast and in a month you wont even know I cut it...
Anyway, the poker bowl was a fun experience. I saw a lot of friends that I haven't seen since the WSOP and I made some new friends at the same time. : ) Things were a slight bit hectic for everyone. Since it's the first tournament of its kind, everything that could possibly go wrong somehow did. In the end, everything was smoothed out. Thank goodness. Make sure to check it out early 2008 on Fox Sports. :)

WSOP 2007
This summer I spent 48 days (in a row) at the World Series of Poker, held at the Rio, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Being the 3rd year for me I was excited to be back, regardless of what had recently happened. My online sponsor dropped the entire team without notice right before the wsop. Luckily I was hired to be a correspondant for the world series of poker website. This gave me a chance to be more involved with the series and I could still play in tournaments of my choice. In a perfect world everything would have been great, but sadly it was quite dissapointing. Maybe that's the reason it's taken over 3 months to blog about it. I'm going to post this now and add to it as much as I can when I get free time. So make sure to check back. :)

Restaurant review at Dick's Last Resort
A little over a week ago I got a call from Newby asking if I wanted to do a restaurant review with Denise, Julie Mac and Andrea ( the girls from http://www.rawvegas.tv/ ) and of course I said hell yeah. After a long a stressfull WSOP... a girls night out was exactly what I needed; not to mention the fact that ANYTHING to do with Rawvegas is going to be fun.
The restaurant was Dick's Last Resort in the Excalibur Hotel and Casino. Yes I know it's at the Excalibur, but trust me you have to go! (Just pretend you're on your way to Thunder Down Under. haha.) It's a chain, with one being in San Antonio on the River Walk, that is known for it's service... bad service. The waiters are total dicks to everyone that comes in, even the kiddos. Some people get funny paper hats with messed up sayings on them and others get paper napkins thrown at them from across the room. Either way, you walk into this place and you're going to have a great time.
This was the most fun I've had in a long time. The food was great, Taco was hilarious, and I had a great group of friends to hang out with. Make sure to check out the clip! And while you're at it... count how many times I can say Boner... right meow!

I love Vancouver!
Well I have exactly 5 minutes that I've allowed to keep everyone posted. Getting into Vancouver around midnight I was expecting to just see the driver who was picking me up at the airport. As I walked out, I hear my name coming from somewhere. I look up and on the floor above me, I was pleasantly surprised to see three of my favorite Canadians waving and smiling! I love you guys, that was so sweet! And riding in a limo from the 1970's was totally pimp...lol. Good times.
I have no doubt in my mind that this week is going to be a great one! My first tournament starts in 25 minutes. It's going to be a 6 handed NL Holdem tournament, one of my favorites. With about 300 and change playing, it will be very interesting to see how everything turns out. Keep your fingers crossed, because mine will be wrapped around my new good luck charm. (Thanks Theo!)
My morning is off to a GREAT start. I had room service bring the usual (oatmeal, english muffin, small OJ and coffee) to wake me up. Wake up calls have no effect on me, I just sleep on through. And since the beds here at the River Rock Casino are the best beds I've ever slept in, I knew a simple phone call wouldn't do the trick. I must say that I feel like a kid about to go to Disneyland. I've been laughing out loud at almost every commercial I've seen and staring out the window every few minutes soaking up the beautiful view. (there is this milk commercial with a caveman that is the funniest thing I've seen in a looong time) And in just a few minutes I'll be playing!!! woo hoo.Now all I need is a french vanilla from Tim Hortons and I'll be on cloud 9. : ) K kids, wish me luck, I'm off to win a tourney....

Busy Bees have nothing on me...
We're just a few days away from the Johnny Chan Poker Classic at the River Rock Casino in Vancouver, British Columbia. (wow that's a long sentance) I've been looking forward to this event for the past two months. I'm quite certain that this will be a great tournament. My game is at it's best right now and I have a gut feeling the next few tourneys I play in will prove it to be true.
This weekend I made two final tables... only not in the tournaments I wanted... no luck in the wsop circuit. I also missed the ladies event on sunday. Showing up at 12:15 thinking that 15 min late would be a good thing (i'll explain) was not such a good idea. Aparently it started at 11am and I was too late to register. LAME. How can you have 95% of your tourneys all week at noon and then make the ladies play earlier?! I'll say it again... LAME. The reason I showed up late was of my early exit with pocket aces the year before. Last year the 3rd hand I was dealt on the button was the all mighty AA.Turns out a little old lady decided to push allin preflop in mid position. THE BLINDS ARE 25-25... wtf? I'm never going to lay down aces preflop... who the hell would? I call and she flips over 88. I'm feeling pretty damn good to double up, three hands into this tourney, until an 8 of clubs hits on the river. And I'm out of the tournament. So I figure being late this year would at least save me from being the first one eliminated in the event. Oh well, not too upset... really not diggin playing with all chicks. I'd much rather play with the boys. ; )
I do have great news! I haven't been able to share this with anyone since I've been so busy. I'm now going to be covering the WSOP events by doing the exit interviews for the final tables. The WSOP and Bluff magazine are doing live coverage of the final tables on broadband for all the circuit events and about 18 wsop events at the Rio this summer. Woo hoo! You can watch the final tables live* on a 1/2 hour delay* and see hand for hand all of the hole cards and the action that you would never see on tv. Make sure to check it out at: www.worldseriesofpoker.com
Today was my first day covering the WSOP final table at Caesar's Palace. Cory Carroll won $506,176, a seat to the WSOP main event and a championship ring. Congrats! I can't tell you how much fun today was.I was able to hang out with great people and talk poker all day long. My kind of day. :) It was great to see 3 well known pros at the final table: Chad Brown ( Bluff's 2006 player of the year), David "the dragon" Pham, and Steve Wong (2nd place in Festa al Lago). Being my first day on the gig, I really learned some important things for this summer. One of them I'll share... when a big stack goes bust on a donk move... they do NOT want to be asked: how do you think you played today? Maybe I should rephrase the Q and say: so pushing all in on a J high flop with AK wasn't the best play against pocket 10's, you think? Nope... I think that'll piss him off too. Well I guess I have a few weeks till the next WSOP circuit event in New Orleans to come up with better questions. They'll get better I promise.
Well kids it's getting late and I've got an early flight in the morning. I'll fill y'all in on the rest later. Have a great weekend everyone!

Birthday week...
Must have put the "friday the 13th is coming up" to the back of my mind. Creepy, but only cuz everyone says so. Why couldn't it just as well mean that really awsome things happens on Friday the 13th?? Yeah that's what it is. So anyhoo you must've guessed it... I'm working on my second cup of coffee to get this day started. Day 5 of the Birthday Week has begun. My lil sis is coming in town as well as G*str in just a few hours. I'm so excited. I'll be slowly posting pics up from the week on a slide and blogging on www.laceypoker.com when I get free time. For all my friends in Vegas this weekend, text me and I'll let you know where we are. I hope everyone has a safe and joyful weekend.

Bitches man...
Soapbox please.... ahem.... why is it that chicks have to hate eachother without even knowing them? You women need to get some self confidence... seriously I'm saying that in the nicest way possible. Playing poker and modeling are probably to two worst places to befriend another female. Why? Shouldn't we be supportive?
In two fields where ALL WE HAVE IS EACH OTHER why would you turn your back to a possible friend? Poker is difficult enough having the boys against us, but even still the women are far worse at the tables. How great would it be if the girls got to travel the circut together and support one another like all the guys do? With any sufferage group the only way their voice was heard was when they organized together and took a stand.Don't you see that? Why do you feel the need to be such a bitch? It doesn't make sense. Life is so much better when you apprecieate it. We are pro players in a game that is at times not fair. We take hits that an average joe would cry a river and we smile and say "Nice Hand." Wouldn't it be nice if you had a few girlfriends you could talk to and say what a lucky fucking donk he was to hit that 1 outer!?! This is the best time of my life. Even with the ups and downs. Yes there are many downs. Last week I was in the hospital and now dealing with kidney problems. Even with that I still had an amazing week... I wouldn't let it bring me down. Surround yourself with positive energy and you will be a happier person... I promise. When all you give out is negative vibes you are wrapping yourself in darkness.
Also I really don't need this fake drama bullshit you girls feel the need to create. Even with a current modeling job... the models that I would love to meet and just get to know...(cuz maybe we are working on the same job... and maybe it's just good karma to be nice instead of a bitch) won't even say two words to me. Fuck do you think I care if you won't talk to me? I guess I must if I feel the need to bitch slap you girls right now... GROW UP! Eventhe40yearoldoverweightdrunkbitchcougarsthatfelttheneedtobumpthebackofmychairwhenI wasplayingat Bellagiolastnightwhileiwasinamotherfuckinghandrepeatedlycangrowthefuckupanddrinkaslimfast.
Yes I said it. Ok had to clear that crap out of my head. Man you chicks are killing me! And to all the cool chicks I've met... you rock and I love you! You girls know who you are. :)
