The photo of the sky is the exact opposite of the sky above me. It's becoming monsoon season (my favorite time) here in Las Vegas. The clouds are thick and black swallowing the sun. You can hear the thunder rolling, yet it has not rained. The anticipation is fun for me. I love the rain. I remember in Texas there would be flood warnings and we knew we'd be stuck in our house for a few days. My mother, being the smartest woman alive, would take my little sister and I to the same four places to "stock up" on everything we would need. Without fail we'd go to HEB (a supermarket), Blockbusters, the Bookstop, and the liquor store. It was those days I loved the most. My mother would start a fire in the fire place and we never ran out of fun things to do. It almost seemed like a mini vacation. Watching the rain pound on the glass for hours never got boring to me. I love the rain.
I've been taking some "me" time these past few weeks and it has done wonders! I wish I could fill everyone in on all the great things happening or about to happen. I felt like writing this blog to catch a fleeting feeling I didn't want to forget. Instead of keeping it to myself I felt like sharing. Maybe there are stressful things going on around you at the moment, hopefully not. Take a few minutes each day for yourself. Think about the things that make you happy. Jot down a fond memory enjoying that moment or put yourself back in that place. Remember the sounds, smells, and visualise your surroundings. I swear doing this on a regular basis is better than Prozac, but don't quote me... I'm not a doctor.
