Almost home

My trip to Borgata has been a great one. I have one more full day tomorrow and go home on Friday. I'm packing up most of my clothes tonight. This way I can enjoy my last day with out franticlly trying to fit all my clothes into my bags last minute. A little travel tip I learned years ago, but never really applied until today.

These past three weeks have really put me on the right path in my life. Once again I find myself in the right place at the right time and it feels as though the universe is opening its doors. Being alone and doing this by myself was the best thing for me right now. Don't get me wrong. I love my boyfriend and can't wait to get home to see him. It's just that this was a great time to find myself and have time to think as well as grow as a person. And you can't forget the fact that my body is in great shape for working out almost everyday! Woo Hoo!

There is so much to talk about and lots of clothes to pack, so I just wanted to give y'all a quick update. Tomorrow is going to be my last day of shooting, but I'm going to make sure I relax and savor the rest of my trip. I'll catch up with y'all soon.

Quick update

Today is the 12th day I've spent here at Borgata without leaving the property once. Have I gone crazy yet? No, actually I can't complain. Except for the slight feeling of "Groundhog's Day" and mixing all the days up, "Was that yesterday?" it's been a much needed trip. I haven't blogged in a few days. I did write one right after I busted from the modified shootout. I had cashed, but suffered a horrible beat. Preflop all in my KK vs. 99...9 on the flop and he covered me by 500 chips or so. I honestly wrote a long blog about the beat from the ladies event too and then it all hit me. Who the hell cares? It was enough for me to write it all out, highlight the hurndreds of words that poured out of me, and then press delete.

Here again I'm trying to write some things out so I can possibly fall asleep at a decent hour. Things are not all great right now and I know I have a lot of friends and family that are concerned. All I can say is that I'm on a path in my life that is about to change drastically. I prayed yesterday morning and somehow my answer was in a the form of a phone call no more than 8 hours later. Although the phone call was extremely upsetting, I truly believe that I had to experience this to continue on with my life. This is all quite vague and I'm sure soon it will be evident what I'm talking about. It seems as though I'm not the only one going through a bad time in their life. Not to preach, but if you let go and ask for guidance, you'd be surprised at what presents itself to you.

Borat is at Borgata!

Yes I swear it had to be him! Chilling at the beautiful indoor pool, he left the neon yellow banana hamock in Kazakhstan and sported a red speedo. I was able to spend 45 minutes watching him, in awe of course, while I ran on the treadmill. One of the great things about Borgata is that you always have eye candy everywhere you look. From beautiful hand blown glass chandeliers by artist Dale Chihuly to a full service gym that over looks the indoor swiming pool (which has huge 3 story windows that over look the Atlantic Ocean), everywhere you look you find something beautiful. At times the view can be quite funny too. Those are just a fraction of the things I keep meaning to write and haven't had the chance. So far I've decided to do a bit of relaxing before everything starts to pick up. Relaxing is pretty easy when you're staying here. The Pump Room, otherwise know as the gym, is quite large and has everything one would need. They even have a stand up tanning booth in the gym! Only thing missing is the gauntlet (my fave machine), but I've only found that at the River Rock Casino in Vancouver. Speaking of Vancouver, I miss all my friends, the River Rock, and playing poker up there. I'll have to make a trip soon and also finish writing my blog on the BCPCs I played back in November. Much more to talk about and no time to finish. I'll check back in a little later today with more celebrity spottings here at Borgata. ;)

Borgata... work, poker and vacation

Hey everyone! Yesterday was my last day in Las Vegas 'till Febuary. For the next few weeks I'll be in Atlantic City staying at Borgata. I'm really excited to take some much needed time to enjoy playing poker, working and relaxing here. Borgata's hotel, casino and spa is by far the best on the East Coast. It also ranks in my top favorite casinos worldwide. This time I'll be doing video interviews for the Borgata on http://www.theborgatatv.com/ (site launches later this week). Right now the Borgata Winter Poker Open is going on and huge numbers have been turning out for the tournaments. Today was the first event with over 1600 people registered! Lots of money to be made when I'm not working. :) Not sure which event I'm playing, but I'll keep y'all posted. This also means I'm going to have a lot of free time on my hands. Start expecting more blogs, new pics, new website content and lots more things to waste your time on.

My last few days in Sin City

I left off on a two day streak of blogging. My goal for the week is three days in a row, let's see if I can make it. haha. Just got some of the pics from the photoshoot this past Friday. This fashion shoot was for the new shops in the Palazzo. Outfits from Tory Burch, Diane von Furstenberg, Polici, Barney’s and Catherine Malandrino. Accessories from Christian Louboutin and Edidi. Can we say heaven? Mostly talking about the shoes... Christian Louboutin are my favorite! Susan Stapelton was the fashion editor and styled the shoot. As I was getting my makeup done she asked, "So what's it like playing poker?" From there we spent the whole time talking fashion and poker; My kind of topics. :) Susan also told me that I'll be on the cover of IMAGE along with the editorial... bonus! Good things are going to happen this 2008, I can feel it!

Saturday I finally got to a hockey game! Woo hoo! The last time I watched live hockey was back in May for the Canucks vs. Ducks in the playoffs. The Las Vegas Wranglers are an ECHL team, but pretty damn good for a farm team. I went with my Dad (the die hard fan) and Heath. They lost, which was shocking given they beat the same team 5-0 the night before. Hmmm something tells me the players from Victoria must have been partying the night before the first game. I'd be surprised to know the statistics for teams getting their asses kicked because they get sucked into the Vegas clubs instead of getting a good nights rest. Victoria ended up winnng 3-1 against Vegas. Lame. Although there was a pretty awsome fight once the game was over. Heath didn't think it was that cool. He's watched people getting their face smashed in on a regular basis. What's a hockey fight when they all have protection, right?

A much needed day off...

Can you believe it?! Two blogs from Lacey, not only in the same week, but one on Wednesday and now again on Thursday. Haha. Yes I'm psychic and I know that's at least what my Mom is thinking. Btw, I love you Mommy! ( have to say that, sorry guys) Just got back from my run with Heath. If you want to call it a run. Usually my workouts have been in the house or a gym. Moving from Manhattan Beach to Las Vegas has forced me away from running along the Ocean and climbing my secret lover, the Manhattan Beach Sand Dune. The photo I added is the view from my room before I moved. I miss those days! Now it's machines, free weights and a few of my favorite exercise videos. Today I decided to be a little different and go running with Heath at a park nearby where we live. It's a beautiful day today in Las Vegas. The sun is shining and the weather is a cool 55F degrees. I was super pumped to go running outside. Just like the good ol' days, not to mention running alongside my main squeeze was exciting for me since it was our first time. The park is actually pretty cool. It's has a 1 mile circumference with a huge field of grass for people to play soccer in the middle. Two Eastern European teams were practicing and you could hear them talking in a different language. *I love hearing people speak other languages; I'm weird, I know. Getting out of the car I did my stretches, put the sunglasses on, and set the ipod to Britney Spears. Yes everyone hates Britney, but damn her new CD is the shizzz! You get almost a full hour of great beats that really push you to go the extra mile. Any who, tangents galore when I'm writing a blog. Then we were off. Getting to about a quarter of a mile in I noticed that my face and skin were getting really itchy. Ignoring the problem I kept pushing to keep the same pace as Heath. Half a mile in, my lungs felt like they were on fire and I couldn't breathe. Memories of my track running days came flooding back. It's that damn Bermuda grass! The grass on the field is dried up and dead and with the slight breeze you get the dead husks from the grass swirling around in the air. My only problem is I'm allergic to that crap. As a child I couldn't even sit on grass without immediately getting a itchy rash that would turn my legs red and blotchy. Needless to say I had to walk the rest of the half mile and go to the car. Migrane in tow. So here I am with a little more free time to write a blog. Need to chill out before finishing my run on the treadmill at the house. LAME. Looks like we'll have to find somewhere like Red Rock to run around.
Finally I have a free day! Only thing important to do is workout, make some phone calls and get plenty of beauty rest for another photoshoot tomorrow. The shoot is a fashion spread featuring the new stores at the Palazzo, Venetian's new tower. I can't wait! It's an early call time, so gotta finish running and get to bed. Catch up with y'all soon! :)

Busy Busy

Bleh I know I said I'd write more and yet again, I don't have a free moment, but alas I'm home and have some time to kill. Today was super fun for me. Did a photoshoot for Risque, Voodoo Beach, Voodoo Lounge and Foundation Room ( in Atlantic City) all in one day. We shot at the nightclub Risque at the Paris Casino in front of a green screen. So who knows what the background might be. I'll make sure to post the pics when I get the tear sheets. The model I worked with (Amanda) was really cool, unlike most that you meet, so it made for some really great chemistry. They had us dancing around in bikinis for the first shoot, which me dancing with out liquor is quite the site to see. haha. Not to mention it was early in the morning and I was still half asleep. But being the veteran I am I've learned the ways to cheat and make it look like I'm getting down. Fly girls you better watch out! ;) Everyone in the crew that we worked with was awsome and the day flew by pretty fast. Best part was I had looong hair again! Chopping my hair after the World Series was not the best idea I've had. Sigh. But I guess that's why they invented clip in hair extensions. Never had them before, except for a few times on the runway, but I like em! Who knows I may start sporting them till my hair grows a few more inches. What do ya think?
Yesterday I did a video interview with cardplayer magazine and had Kristy Arnett interview me. It was fun to have the tables turned, but I had to keep myself from asking her questions. Silly me, always ready to work when the camera is on. From there I had to run up to the Fantasy Suite at the Palms to host a presentaion for ClearWire. CES (Consumer Electronic Show) is in town and everything electronic is debuting their products. It was nice not having to work the actual convention this year and only work for a few hours. Usually you spend 4 days in heels having to deal with over 140,000 people in and out of your booth. The past few years I worked for Sony, which I loved, but my feet hated it. On my breaks I would always walk around and play with everything like a 5 year old kid on Christmas. " Oh wow, what the hell is this?!" Fun stuff. Time to take a nap kids... my 5 hour energy drink is now going on its 7th hour. 'Till next time. ;)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! 2008 is off to a great start. I have LOTS of great news for everyone, just have to wait a few more days to let you in on the secrets. I haven't been keeping up with my blog as promised, but this time I swear things will change very soon. All the friends and fam have been nagging me to catch y'all up... so :p ... I've been a busy girl! I'm back in Vegas till the 14th and then will be home again on the 1st of Febuary for the entire month. I think I was in Vegas a total of 9 days since November. So lots of laundry and catching up is in order. LOL. Still haven't put the blog up on Vancouver, the rest of my trip in the Philippines, Arizona, and Monterey for the New Year. Man I have a lot to catch up on! But those will be up soon. Just wanted to check in and give my best to evreyone. Hopefully tonight I'll have a nicer post to read, than me being silly and saying the same ol' thing.
